The Friends of the MUHC is a charitable organization of volunteer ambassadors dedicated to easing and enhancing the hospital experience for all. Our mission is to promote patient welfare, create a welcoming environment within the hospital, and engage the community in support of the MUHC.
That’s our motto. We’re committed to making all of the MUHC hospitals a little more comfortable and less overwhelming for patients, families, visitors, and staff. Through active fundraising and other supportive endeavours, we lend a caring hand to help strengthen the MUHC community as a whole. See how you can get involved and be a part of something special.
In November 2016, The Friends of the MUHC launched the 5th Annual Toonie Challenge at Roslyn School. In all, 12 schools are participating in the Toonie Challenge, which asks students to come up with school initiatives to raise Toonies for much-needed pieces of equipment for the MUHC. This year, the students have until May 31st, 2017 to raise funds for a baby scale with trolley for complex care. Get your school involved and help make a difference!
This is not another dinner dance. This is not a silent auction. This is not a fashion show. This doesn’t require a tuxedo, new dress, false eyelashes, fancy hairdo or new shoes. This is whatever you’d like it to be! All we ask is that you invite some friends… and have a ball!
Our first-ever event raised over $15,000, all of which goes back to patient care!! Keep an eye out for the date of our next Friendship Ball and consider being a host! It’s a great way to see your friends and do some good for the community at the same time. Let’s keep the ball rolling…
